It's The 2000 Horse Power Lotus Electric Hypercar
The Brits are back with a bang, slamming their new and very first hypercar of the Lotus brand out of
the blue, it's called The Evija.
So the name, it was code named the Type 130 when it the was under progression. As per lotus's tradition it starts with an 'E' , Evija means the very first of something or the first in existence, as the name interprets it's the brand's very first hypercar and the very first all electric car, it's like lotus just skipped the supercar territory and distinctively went for the hypercar territory and man-oh-man they did an excellent job building this master piece of monstrosity. The Lotus is going to be producing only 130 units of this astonishing car, it'll be going under production during the first half of 2020.
So let's get into the design of this car; The designers of Lotus have built this car on the philosophy "Carved By Air", infact there are areas inside the body work where the air flow is happening to increase the efficiency of the car. The vents at the rear that goes all the way to the side panel of the car is carved to create a Venturi effect, you can just see right through it, than we've got this active rear wing and active DRS system at the bottom rear of the car, you can also see the outlined tail lights and illuminated Lotus branding at the rear with the charging unit placed just below the branding. On the front you can see there's a bonnet wing where air flow on either side goes beneath before going up and over the cabin. You get the Lotus laser headlights with the Lotus Laser branding inside the headlights, it's got the magnesium wheels to keep the weight low and of course the pirelli tires, there are some quite massive vents right behind those front wheel arches, again for the airflow. There are pop out door mirror or say door camera's on this car no physical mirrors at all, these mirrors (camera's) slides right in when you open the doors. The doors are motorized they open and close automatically
In the interior of the car you can see it's filled with exposed carbon fiber pretty much everywhere, you can see the led light strip running around the whole cabin. The steering wheel on this car seems to be Motorsports inspired, a floating dashboard display and this but very well cushioned bucket seats to reduce the weight. Lotus logo on this car can be personalized with all the precious metals or carbon fiber, whatever you are into.
The power produced by this humongous monster is 2000 brake horse power that means it's got 4 motors for each wheels producing 500 brake horse power individually, that number is more than the power produced by any IC engine Lotus sports car, torque produced by this beast is 1700Nm, the weight of the car is about 1680 kg, it can go from 0-300 kmph in just 8.6 sec, that is just insane I mean you would have to be careful about the whiplash caused by the immediate acceleration. So this car beats the Pininfarina Battista which produces 1900hp & Rimac C2 which produces 1950hp, that makes this car the most power electric car ever produced.
By the way, Lotus was bought by a Chinese multinational company named Geely in the year 2017.
